How It Started

I started MinLee Designs in 2019 in Sri Lanka, with a simple idea:

Everyone deserves to have a clear vision of their space before spending money on it.

Over the years, I've worked on different types of interior design projects, creating everything from floor plans and furniture layouts to 3D visualizations, mood boards and shopping lists. And through those projects, I started noticing something.

Clients didn't just want a beautiful room. They wanted to understand the room. They wanted to know:

• What should I buy?
• Will this furniture fit?
• Do these colours work together?
• Where should everything go?
• What should I change first?
• How can I create this look without wasting money?

And I realized that having a beautiful design is only part of the solution. People also need a clear plan they can actually follow.

That's Where MinLee Designs Became Different

I wanted to create a design service that makes decorating feel simpler. You don't need to visit a showroom with dozens of choices. You don't need to spend hours searching for furniture online. And you don't need to start a major renovation just to make your room feel different.

Instead, we start with your space. You send me your photos, a video walkthrough, and the measurements or floor plan of your room. From there, I can understand how your space actually works and create a design around it.

Your furniture is planned around your real dimensions. Your colours, materials and décor are selected to work together. And when I create your shopping list, I use real products that you can actually buy, based on what's available in your area.

So the design isn't just something beautiful to look at.

It's something you can actually bring to life.

I Believe Design Should Be Practical, Too

I love beautiful interiors. But I don't believe a beautiful room is enough. Your home also needs to work for your everyday life. That's why I think about things like:

• How will you use this room?
• Does the furniture actually fit?
• Is there enough space to move around?
• Does the layout make sense?
• Can you realistically buy these products?
• Can you actually put the design together yourself?

These details matter. Because the best design isn't just something that looks good in a picture.

It's something that works in real life.

More Than Just a Mood Board

One of my favourite parts of the design process is the Design Guide. I don't want to simply give you a beautiful mood board and leave you wondering what to do next. I want you to understand the design.

That's why I explain how to arrange your furniture, how to style the room, and why certain design decisions were made. Think of it as having my design advice with you while you're putting your space together.

You can take your time, shop when you're ready, and create the room yourself. And if you have questions along the way, I'm always here to help.

Why Virtual Design?

One of the things I love most about virtual interior design is that it allows me to work with people anywhere in the world. You don't need to live near me for us to work together. Your home can be in Australia, the UK, the US, Canada, or anywhere else, as long as we have the information we need about your space.

Technology allows us to design remotely while still making the design personal to you. And because the process is online, you can work on your home from the comfort of your own space, at your own pace.

My Approach

I don't believe your home needs to follow every trend. I believe it should feel like you. My approach is:

Today, MinLee Designs is a virtual interior design studio based in Sri Lanka, working with homeowners around the world. What started as a passion for interior design has grown into something I care deeply about, helping people feel more confident about creating their homes.

Because I know how easy it is to become overwhelmed by all the choices. And I also know how good it feels when everything suddenly starts to make sense.
